What is PermitProwler?

PermitProwler is an automated permit intelligence service for commercial contractors in Nashville and Raleigh. We monitor city building permit offices 24/7 and send you instant SMS and email alerts when new commercial projects are issued that match your trade specialties and service area.

Which cities do you cover?

Currently we cover Nashville, TN (Davidson County) and Raleigh, NC (Wake County). We're expanding to Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Phoenix, and Denver in 2026. Join our waitlist to be notified when your city launches.

How quickly do I receive alerts after a permit is issued?

Our system checks city permit APIs every 30 minutes. Once a matching permit is detected, your alert is sent immediately—typically within minutes to hours of the permit being issued by the city.

What types of projects are included?

We monitor commercial building permits with a minimum valuation of $10,000. This includes new construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and major system installations. We filter out amendments, revisions, and residential projects.

How much does PermitProwler cost?

$129/month for our Platinum Plan, which includes both Nashville and Raleigh markets, unlimited alerts, SmartScore priority ranking, GC contact information, and all features. No hidden fees or usage limits.

Is there a free trial?

Yes! We offer a 7-day free trial with full access to all features.

Can I cancel anytime?

Absolutely. There are no contracts or cancellation fees. You can cancel from your dashboard or by emailing tony@permitprowler.com. You'll retain access through the end of your current billing period.

Features & Functionality

What is SmartScore?

SmartScore is our proprietary 0-100 priority ranking system. It analyzes how well each project matches your profile based on project size, ZIP code proximity, trade keywords, preferred GCs, and recency. Higher scores indicate better fit—but it's a priority tool, not a win probability.

How do you get GC contact information?

We use Apollo.io's business intelligence API to enrich contractor names with contact details. When Apollo data isn't available, we use domain-based inference. Contact accuracy is typically 70-85%.

What's the one-click introduction feature?

Each alert includes a link to generate a professional introduction email. The email requests bid documents from the GC on your behalf, includes your qualifications, and is sent from your email address with you CC'd. Importantly, it never includes pricing—that comes later after you review the project scope.

How many alerts will I receive?

It varies based on your ZIP codes, trade specialties, and market activity. Most contractors receive 5-15 relevant alerts per week. You control volume by adjusting your service area and preferences in your dashboard.

Technical Questions

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. If you're not satisfied within the first 30 days, contact us for a full refund. No questions asked.

How reliable is the data?

We pull data directly from official city APIs (Nashville Socrata and Raleigh Open Data). The permit information is exactly as the city publishes it. We add validation and enrichment on top of the official data.

What happens if a city API goes down?

Our monitoring system detects API outages within 24 hours and alerts us immediately. We'll notify affected subscribers and resume service as soon as the API is restored. Future phases include scraping and email-based fallback systems.

Can I integrate PermitProwler with my CRM?

Not yet, but it's on our Phase 2 roadmap. For now, you can forward alert emails to your CRM's email-to-lead feature, or manually add opportunities from your dashboard.
